Frequently asked questions
What is ModGuard ScamCheck?
ModGuard ScamCheck is a free AI scam checker from Coach Samuel and ModGuard AI. Paste a text message, email, DM, link or phone-call transcript, or upload a screenshot, and it returns a verdict of Safe, Suspicious or Scam, the red flags it found, and three next steps.
Is ScamCheck free? Do I need an account?
Yes, it is free and needs no login or account. There is a fair-use limit of a few checks per minute to keep it fast for everyone.
How does ScamCheck decide if something is a scam?
An AI model reads the message for known scam patterns such as urgency, impersonation, requests for gift cards, crypto or codes, and too-good-to-be-true offers. Any links are checked against free phishing blocklists from OpenPhish and Phishing Army. A link on a blocklist always produces a Scam verdict.
Can it detect AI voice-clone scam calls?
Yes. Paste or type what the caller said. ScamCheck looks for voice-clone patterns such as a relative in sudden trouble, requests for secrecy, a new phone number, and urgent bail, hospital or travel money.
Is my message stored?
No. Messages are analyzed to produce your result and are not saved to a database. Do not paste passwords, card numbers or one-time codes.
What should I do if ScamCheck says Scam?
Do not click links, reply, or send money. Contact the company or person using a number you already trust, such as the one on your card. Report the scam at reportfraud.ftc.gov in the US and block the sender.
Is the verdict guaranteed?
No tool is perfect. ScamCheck gives guidance, not a guarantee. When in doubt, do not click and do not pay, and verify through a trusted channel.
